A light-filled studio by the sea, and a needle that never rushes.

CLEONIE is an all Australian made and designed swimwear label based on the sunny shores of the New South Wales Central Coast. Inspired by her connection to the ocean and her love of the Australian lifestyle, designer Kitty Scott founded CLEONIE to create beautiful, sustainable and wearable pieces for on and off the beach.

After graduating from RMIT University and studying fashion abroad at Istituto Marangoni, Kitty now spends her days in her studio in North Avoca. Here, each order is lovingly cut and hand sewn individually, so you can choose the colour and the cut, for pieces that are unique and long lasting.

Crinkle kini tops and briefs from $120 AUD, maillots from $240 AUD. Made in 5 to 10 business days, then sent express. The studio confirms every custom detail with you first.

In an industry that moves too fast, we take it slow.

    It begins as fishnets

    Our lycras include ECONYL, a 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from fishnets and other nylon waste, and VITA. Yarn that can be recycled, recreated and remoulded, time and again.

  2. 02

    Nothing is cut until you order

    We cut and create your swimsuit as and when your order comes in, which minimises waste and lets you change the cut. Prints are digital with water based inks, and we say no to harsh chemicals.

    Sewn by hand in North Avoca

    Every crinkle piece is made in house at our Australian studio, usually within 5 to 10 business days. Our beaded and crochet styles are made by the hands of artisans in Indonesia.

    Wrapped with care

    Acid free, FSC certified tissue, recycled paper swing tags and a bio-based parcel that is completely compostable, with no toxic residues or micro-plastics.

    Sent express, near and far

    Every Australian order ships express post, free. The rest of the world travels with FedEx.

  6. 06

    Kept for many summers

    Timeless styles in conscious fabrics, made to be reworn season after season. If your piece needs a new back clasp or a new shell, our repairs are complimentary.
